Craft, diagnosed in 2022 with stage 4 large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma, remained a symbol of strength, inspiring his teammates and fans with his unwavering spirit. Even as he stepped away from active play, Craft stayed closely tied to the Tar Heels as a student coach and was awarded the prestigious Disney Spirit Award for his courage.
